Umbertide

Umberleigh is a town in the Umbria Region and more specifically the province of Perugia. It is located in the upper valley of the Tiber River and is crossed by the Tiber river and the Royal Palace . Characterized by a very special historic center still surrounded by medieval walls in sections bordering the rivers.

Important center of engineering, tissue, packaging and industrial ceramics, but also the tabacchicultura and organic farming.

There are many monuments and churches to visit in the country. Among the monuments there is the medieval fortress, now a center for exhibitions, and between the churches, the Collegiate Church of St. Maria's Palace, the Gothic St. Francis, the church and the museum of Santa Croce with the deposition of Luca Signorelli, the church of Santa Maria 1486, with frescoes by Pinturicchio.

Well known is the Theater of Reunited, restored with great care. Outside the city include the Romanesque abbey church of SS. Ippolito and Cassiano, in the village of Abbey, the Abbey (Gothic and Romanesque, two churches) of S. Salvatore Montecorona, the hermitage of Montecorona (XVI century), and a circle of medieval castles, among which the most impressive is to Civitella Ranieri.
